Molybdenum Disilicide | Mosi2 Heating Elements | High Power For Electric Heating of Industrial Furnaces
Introduction
Molybdenum disilicide Heating Element is a resistance heating element based on molybdenum silicide, which is heated to high temperatures in an oxidizing atmosphere and generates a dense quartz glass film on its surface to protect it from further oxidation. Therefore, it has unique high temperature oxidation resistance. In oxidizing atmosphere, its maximum temperature can reach 1800℃, and its applicable temperature is 500~1700℃, which can be used as heating elements for ceramics, magnetic materials, glass, metallurgy, refractory materials, and other Industrial high temperature furnaces.
Generally divided into straight and curved shapes. It can be customized into a variety of shapes and sizes, all components have a long life and consistent performance characteristics.
Common Shapes
The most commonly used design is a two-shank U-shaped element. The heating zone is welded to terminals which normally have a diameter double that of the heating zone.
The two-shank element can be bent 45° or 90° either in the heating zone or in the terminals.
Four-shank elements are used only horizontally。

Installation Method of Mosi2 Heating Elements
Take out the wooden block in the middle of the heating element and place it in the corresponding position in the furnace;
Insert the heating element into the spacer block and then slowly insert it into the hole. After the other end of the heating element contacts the wooden block, press the spacer block into the installation hole and fill the gap with alumina fiber cotton;
Install the ceramic fixture. Pay attention to the direction of the screws when pressing;
After taking out the wooden block, press other heating elements in turn;
Install the track. The track should not contact the fixture to avoid short circuit. The upper end of the track is slightly lower than the upper end of the heating element. The screws for fixing the track should be in the same direction to prevent short circuit.
Note: Silicon molybdenum rods are easy to break and need to be operated with caution.
